
Shadia Qubti

Biography
Shadia Qubti is a Palestinian Christian from Nazareth, currently an arrivant on the unceded and traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. She holds an MPhil in Peace Studies from Trinity College Dublin and an MA in Indigenous and Interreligious Studies from Vancouver School of Theology, where her research explored Palestinian and North American Indigenous understandings of land.
She worked in faith-based peacebuilding in Palestine/Israel for 15 years, focusing on amplifying women’s voices through initiatives like the Women Behind the Wall podcast. Her chapter “Noticing Sumac in Unexpected Places” in The Cross and the Olive Tree: Cultivating Palestinian Theology Amid Gaza (2025) explores her land-based theological approach. Currently in the learning circle of the North American Indigenous Institute for Theological Studies (NAIITS), she serves as Community Engagement Animator at Trinity Grace United Church in Vancouver.
