Mary has twenty-five years’ leadership experience in the philanthropic sector locally, provincially, and nationally, chairing the Rozsa Foundation and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Boards, and serving on the Philanthropic Foundations Canada Board. Her work has contributed to resiliency and system change within the arts sector and successful advocacy on behalf of the sector. Mary has received a variety of civic appointments and served on numerous not-for-profit boards, with a penchant for board governance and collaborative initiatives.

Currently, Mary is the Convener of the St. Andrew’s Hall Board, Representative Elder in the Presbytery of Calgary Macleod and Session member at Grace Presbyterian Church where she was baptised as an infant.

Early in her career, Mary was a public-school teacher and then elected to enter the business world starting a mortgage company and overseeing a significant financial portfolio. She is still active in this work.
