I was born in Nigeria and have lived and studied in Nigeria, Canada and the UK. Religious change in Africa and in non-western societies is of primary interest to me as a scholar. I believe that a robust understanding of the phenomena can be obtained by the adoption of approaches that are not exclusively theological.
Secondly, I bring to my scholarship experience in mentoring and coaching of leaders, having honed these skills during nearly two decades of involvement with university students and young professionals in West Africa. For relaxation I enjoy singing and songwriting. You can hear some of my songs at www.nathanelawa.com. I am fluent in three African languages: Jukun, Hausa and Yoruba
