Join us for the Vancouver School of Theology’s annual Chancellor’s Dinner—an evening of celebration, community, and conversation in support of theological education.
The Chancellor’s Dinner brings together alumni, friends, churches, supporters, and community partners who believe in the enduring importance of thoughtful, engaged, and generous theological education. Together, we celebrate the life of VST while investing in the future of its students and mission.
The evening will feature:
- A keynote address by Dr. Shanen Boettcher, former Chief Policy Officer at AI21 Labs and former Microsoft executive
- Recognition of the 2026 Chancellor’s Scholars by Chancellor Catherine Evans
- A conversation with current VST students
- Musical performances by VST alumnus Jason Wood
- Dinner and opportunities to connect with members of the VST community
About the Keynote Speaker
Dr. Shanen Boettcher brings together decades of leadership in the technology sector with scholarship in theology and ethics. After senior roles at AI21 Labs, Microsoft, Netscape, Accenture, and Responsible Innovation Labs, he earned a PhD from the University of St Andrews, where his research explored artificial intelligence, human communication, and spirituality.
His keynote, Christo et Litteris (Christ and Letters): AI and Practical Theology, will explore the relationship between artificial intelligence and practical theology, drawing on his experience in both the technology industry and theological scholarship.
