Eco-Anxiety Theology and Practices of Hope
Code: TH6/713D
Dates: September 8, 2025 - December 5, 2025 on Wednesdays
Time: 2:00 pm for 3 hours
Description: We live in a world broken by the realities of climate change, and the breaks are often along lines of marginalization. Though eco-anxiety affects over 84% of young people (according to a 2023 global survey), the harshest impacts fall on BIPOC communities and the global South, particularly in equatorial regions. In this course we will explore the theological and psycho-spiritual impacts of eco-anxiety and work collaboratively toward a theology of creation which accounts for this earthly reality. The course will include theological discussion, journaling, readings, and podcasts, as well as practices that students can use personally and in religious communities to frame ecological hope in the face of climate change.
