Rod Thomson

Rod joins the Vancouver School of Theology Board of Governors in September 2015.  Rod has served on the board of St Andrews Hall since 2013.  His previous board experience includes the Board of Governors at the University of the Fraser Valley from 2005-2011, where he served as chair 2009-2011. In that capacity he also served as chair of the Member’s Board Compensation Committee of the Post Secondary Employers association. He has also served on the board of two multi-sport games, the Western Canada Summer Games and BC Disability Games.

Rod is an Elder at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford and has served as convenor of a ministerial search committee. He also serves as chair of the supervisory committee tasked with planning and oversight on a $6million building project for the church.

Rod provides community and volunteer service through Rotary International and served in local regional and international positions in leadership and training. He currently chairs the editorial board of Rotary Canada magazine.

Rod and his wife Cathy live in Abbotsford and have two grown children and 4 grandchildren. Rod performs with the Moonliters Swing Band, which is dedicated to the music of the Big Band era.
