NMC – NTX500 New Testament I: Synoptic Gospels

Dr. Justine Smith is a graduate student from Harvard Divinity School, concentrating in New Testament, early Christian origins, and Native American studies. Her specialization is in biblical translation—theory and method. She has worked extensively in the treaty rights/Native sovereignty movements and within environmental, social justice, and women’s health organizations. Smith is currently teaching with the North American Institute for Indigenous Theological Institute (NAIITS) and pastors the Norman First American United Methodist Church in Oklahoma.
This course is an investigation into the social context of the Synoptic gospels. This course will allow the learner to engage the scripture and appropriate aids to interpretation with the goal of developing understanding for teaching in ministry.
Please note this course is open to all students and tutorial sessions are mandatory to earn M.Div credit
