Prior to coming to the United States in 1995 to pursue his Master of Theology degree (ThM, Counseling Ministry major), he worked full-time with an international, interdenominational Christian parachurch organization for eighteen years. Wil finished his PhD in Practical Theology with a concentration in spirituality in 2005 at Fuller Theological Seminary, with additional summer studies at the University of Notre Dame and Loyola Marymount University.
