Biography

The Rev. Dr. Kara Mandryk is a priest in the Anglican Church of Canada and an Associate Professor at Providence University College, teaching in the areas of Worship Studies and Practical Theology.  She has her Master’s degree in Biblical Studies and her Doctoral work focused on the adaptation of ancient spiritual disciplines and rituals for young adults in the 21st century.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, she began a northern adventure by relocating to The Pas with her husband, Dr. Keith Hyde in 2014. She serves as the Regional Dean and a “priest at large” in The Pas Deanery, leading services in OCN and surrounding communities such as Moose Lake, Cormorant, Flin Flon, Sapotaweyak, and Wabowden. She also serves as a tutor for the Indigenous Studies program at Vancouver School of Theology. Kara enjoys music, reading, gardening, baking, and hosting people in their peaceful The Pas home. She is privileged to teach and learn alongside people with diverse liturgical, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds
