Anne-Marie Ellithorpe (PhD, University of Queensland, 2019) is a practical theologian. Her research is focused on themes of friendship (including civic friendship, broadly conceived) and community, and draws on classical, biblical, and subsequent historical and theological writings, in considering issues of relationality, compassion, and justice relevant to contemporary Western societies. She has written the first major length practical theology of friendship.
Anne-Marie is originally from New Zealand, where she worked as a teacher and educational consultant. She is currently living in Vancouver, Canada, where her roles include parenting, befriending, and mentoring, in addition to being a Sessional Instructor and Research Associate at VST.
