The Reverend Dr. Lynne McNaughton
Assistant Professor of Spirituality &
Director of Anglican Formation

Lynne McNaughton holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts, with Distinction, in Sociology and English from the University of Alberta, Edmonton. She received a Master of Divinity degree from VST in 1986, and a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Leadership from Columbia Theological School in Decatur, Georgia, in 2007.  She is currently researching pilgrimage as a spiritual practice for people in transition.

Ordained an Anglican priest in 1987, she served in 2 parishes in the Diocese of New Westminster before beginning her position at VST in 1995.

Lynne facilitates and teaches in the Anglican Denominational Studies Programme. She also teaches in the area of Spirituality: Introduction to Christian Spirituality; Biblical Foundations in Christian Spirituality; Foundations in Christian Spirituality: Reformation to the Present; Psalms as Proclamation, Prayer, and Praise; Practicum in Retreat Leadership and Group Spiritual Direction. She has enjoyed teaching Psalms in both Blackfoot and Cree communities in Western Canada, and recently to the Canadian Armed Forces Chapel Co-ordinators. Since 1997, she has co-directed pilgrimage/study tours to Britain, Ireland and France "Claiming our Spiritual Heritage." She is active in ministry formation issues in the Diocese of New Westminster and in the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia. She chairs the Ordained Ministry Division in the Diocese of New Westminster, and serves on the Diocesan Council Strategy Working Group. She frequently leads retreats and parish workshops.

Lynne is married to Ron, and they have two teenaged daughters, Elizabeth and Anne.
